HUNTINGTON STATION, NY, FEBRUARY 1, 2017 - South African-born songwriter and musician Toby Tobias shares his story of hope during a time of war and upheaval across three continents, from Johannesburg to Jerusalem, then here, in America. On Sunday, March 5, he will be joined by the choir members of a well-known Glen Cove community church, on songs from his new musical, JOURNEY FROM JOHANNESBURG. The performance will take place at the Holocaust Memorial & Tolerance Center of Nassau County, a center that teaches the dangers of antisemitism, racism, bullying and all other manifestations of intolerance.

Joined by singers from the Calvary A.M.E First Baptist Church, under the direction of Music Director Robert Meeks and Choir Director Dolores Waller, and accompanied by Huntington-based musicians, Mike Nugent and Richie Guererro, on guitar and percussion, Toby will share the vivid tale of his life in South Africa under the rule of an apartheid government, then in an Israel on the brink of battle for its own identity, before finding a home, and many stark parallels, in the United States of America.

The Holocaust Memorial & Tolerance Center of Nassau County is located at 100 Crescent Beach Road, Glen Cove, NY. Showtime is 2:30 p.m. Museum Donation: $10. Call the Holocaust Museum to reserve tickets at (516) 571-8040. Tax deductible donations to the Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center can be made at www.hmtcli.org.
